The song was inspired by Childcare Canada's "Walk for Water" campaign. Video footage was supplied by OWENDO in Uganda. This music video tells the story of a boy's struggle to provide for his family. He carries a heavy load but it's not just the "jerrycan" on his head. His Sister is dying from a fever brought on by water-borne disease. Ironically, she is dehydrated and crying for more water of the same water that is killing her.
Support Childcare
A boy walks down a dry, dusty road
He struggles, with a heavy load
He carries water, for his family's needs
It gives them life, but also brings disease
His body aches, but he carries on
With blistered feet, he limps along
The waterhole is miles away
It's hard to face another day...
Chorus
Won't you show a child that you care
Don't you have some love to share
Please help these little ones
Give a gift, support Childcare...
The boy comes home, a tear runs down his face
His Sister's sick, a victim of this place
Her lips are cracked, the fever's running high
She cries for water, her tongue feels so dry
He looks into his Mother's eyes
The tears fall hard, his Sister dies
His heart just breaks, he turns away
It's hard to face another day...
Chorus
Won't you show a child that you care
Don't you have some love to share
Please help these little ones
Give a gift, support Childcare...
