HeartSong is comprised of Karl and Darcy Blankenhorn and newly added Cheryl Westenhouser. Their love for each other and of Southern Gospel Music and worship has joined them together to form a much requested trio.
Cheryl Westenhouser began her entrance by first following HeartSong at concerts around the area. She was fondly referred to as Roadie (and still wears the title, today) and was missed when she couldn’t make engagements .Recruiting her into the group was just a natural choice since she knew all the songs and rounds out their sound by carrying the harmony part. Often the brunt of Karl’s jabs, she is a welcomed member, now of HeartSong.
Darcy has been singing as long as she can remember and fondly claims God’s music “has always been my hearts-song” (hence the name) .Darcy sings lead or the high part as each song requires and it has been said, by her peers, she has one of the most unique Southern gospel voices in the business.
Her husband, Karl, although on the road (a lot of the time, driving a semi-truck) has managed to sharpen his quartet bass voice into a range that beautifully compliments the trio covering both the bass and baritone end. His voice matched only by his endless pranks and comedic presence, has been the finishing touch to the trio known as HeartSong.
Their repertoire of songs includes a wide range of new and old Southern Gospel artists as well as some penned by Darcy. They have been requested to sing at churches, parties, fairs and benefits for several radio stations as well as gatherings (one which is hosted by their Quartet, Two by Two the first Saturday after Labor day, annually) .They do not charge for their ministry and say of it “Our ministry is twofold-one to edify our brothers and sisters, in Christ, the other is certainly to win lost souls to Him”. email@example.com 740-427-5382 740-392-2416
